India’s Anish Sarkar has become the youngest ever FIDE-rated chess player at the age of 3 years 8 months and 19 days. As per ChessBase India, Anish Sarkar , who was born on 26 January 2021, became the youngest-ever FIDE-rated player after competing in the West Bengal State Under-9 Open and the West Bengal State Under-13 Open in October. Anish Sarkar became the youngest rated player in the world at the age of 3 years 8 months 19 days in November 2024. He played against GM Arjun Erigaisi in a Simul and defeated two rated players in his first Classical rating tournament.
