Arunachal Pradesh , meaning “Land of the Rising Sun,” long has been a recognized region of the Indian subcontinent, receiving mention in such ancient Hindu literature as the Kalika-purana and the epic poems Mahabharata and Ramayana. It gained the Union Territory status on 20 January 1972 and renamed as Arunachal Pradesh . On 15th August 1975 an elected Legislative Assembly was constituted and the first Council of Ministers assumed office. Arunachal Pradesh - the "Land of dawn-lit mountains", erstwhile North East Frontier Agency (NEFA), is situated at the north-east extremity of the country. Geographically, Arunachal Pradesh lies between 26°28" to 29°30".... Arunachal Pradesh, known as the “Land of the Dawn-Lit Mountains,” is the northeasternmost state of India , characterized by its lush landscapes, rich biodiversity, and vibrant culture. Itanagar, the capital and largest town, serves as the political and cultural center of the state.
