Capital of haryana: The state and union territory

The state and union territory capitals are sorted according to administrative, legislative and judicial capitals. The administrative capital is where the executive government offices are located. The legislative capital is where the legislative assembly is located and the judicial capital is where the states or union territories' high courts are located. Infact, the Centre had offered a Rs 20 crore in grant and loan to Haryana for setting up the new capital , according to the government release. Later in 2018, Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar asked to create a special body for the development of Chandigarh, but the Punjab CM rejected it, saying the city “indisputably belonged to Punjab”. According to the resolution, Haryana was carved out of Punjab in 1966 and, whenever a state has been divided in the past, the capital remains with the parent state. Punjab, therefore, has been laying its claim for the complete transfer of Chandigarh to the state. The city of Chandigarh , within the Chandigarh union territory, serves as the capital of that territory and also the states of Haryana and Punjab. Haryana was created in 1966 from the partition of the former state of Punjab into Punjabi-speaking Punjab and Hindi-speaking Haryana.
