Diphtheria-Tetanus-Pertussis Vaccine Adsorbed is a single-dose booster vaccine used to help protect against diphtheria, tetanus, and pertussis (whooping cough) in individuals aged 4 years and above who have previously completed a primary series of DPT vaccination. DTaP is a routine childhood vaccination (1). Tdap is routinely administered as a single lifetime dose to children at age 11 or 12 years and to people ≥ 13 years who have never received Tdap (regardless of the interval since the last tetanus-diphtheria [Td] vaccine ) or whose vaccine status is unknown. This dose is followed by a Td booster every 10 years to ensure continued protection against tetanus and diphtheria. The Td booster recommendation includes a single dose of Tdap for adults ≥ ... DTaP and Tdap vaccine are safe and effective at preventing diphtheria, tetanus, and pertussis. Vaccines, like any medicine, can have side effects. The most common side effects are usually mild and go away on their own. The DPT vaccine is an essential immunisation that protects against diphtheria, pertussis, and tetanus, all of which can be life-threatening. Following the recommended vaccination schedule ensures long-term immunity and prevents disease outbreaks.
