Eminence in shadow: Kage no Jitsuryokusha ni Naritakute

Kage no Jitsuryokusha ni Naritakute ! was released on Blu-ray and DVD in four volumes from January 25, 2023, to April 26, 2023. The anime adapts volumes 1 and 2 of the light novel series. During his clandestine training, an unforeseen accident occurs when he gets hit by a truck, leading to his untimely demise. To his surprise, he finds himself reborn in a fantastical realm as Cid Kagenou. An eminence in shadow is a person who usually hides his or her abilities and remains a background figure, intervening in the story from the shadows. A certain boy trains to become such an eminence in shadow but then dies and is reborn in a different world as Cid Kagenou. Reincarnated as the son of Baron Kagenou, Cid bides his time as Background Character A while preparing for the day he can finally become the Eminence in Shadow ! The princess is supposed to reject the background character’s confession, not accept it — since when did Cid become a rom-com protagonist?
