I have bought a Fugi /Cramer tool for smoothing silicon but when using on a tiled wall found as the tool follows the wall when it crosses a tile joint it leaves the silicon uneven. I have seen that some silicon smoothing tools come with an adaptor to overcome this issue but unfortunately mine... Fugi profiles. Some silicone needs a mist spray of water with a tiny drop of fairy liquid to help the Fugi profile tool glide seamlessly. Practice makes perfect Been a plumber for many years and have always used the silicone and wet finger/fairy liquid method to obtain a pretty good finish. A fellow plumber i was talking to said im still in caveman era doing it that way and suggested a Fugi tool... Hi. What's the best technique for applying silicone around baths and basins? I've done it once or twice using masking tape which gives a good finish but is time-consuming. When applying "freehand" I tend to get in a right mess especially in corners. Any tips?
