Fusidic Acid Cream is an antibiotic used in the treatment of bacterial skin infections such as impetigo and infected dermatitis. It alleviates infection symptoms by preventing the further growth of the responsible microorganisms. Fucidin 2 % Cream is for external use only. It is available as creams, ointment, dusting powder and lotion dosage forms. Your doctor will decide the dosage form, dose and duration of use based on your condition. Before application clean and dry the affected area. Apply a thin layer over the affected parts of the skin. Fusidic acid cream and sodium fusidate ointment are antibacterial preparations which usually clear skin infection quickly, particularly where the infection only covers a small area. This medicine works by stopping protein synthesis in bacteria thereby killing the bacteria. Fusidic acid may cause some side effects like dry skin, rashes, blistering of the skin, irritation or burning sensation at the site of application.
