Navas Backer (27 April 1974 – 1 August 2025), better known by his stage name as Kalabhavan Navas, was an Indian actor, comedian and mimic. He began his career performing mimicry in stage shows and gained prominence after joining the Kalabhavan troupe, from which he adopted his professional moniker. Malayalam actor and mimicry artist Kalabhavan Navas has died at 51. He was found unconscious in a hotel in Chottanikkara while filming Prakampanam. Niyas , who is also Navas’ brother, condemned the fake poster, confirming that it is entirely fabricated. He stated that certain individuals are attempting to mislead the public by falsely claiming that Navas’ family received ₹26 lakh as a death claim. Niyas started doing stage shows when his brother started working with Kalabhavan. Niyas did theatre shows for two years and learnt a lot from the Mala Aravindan’s Valluvanadan Theatres. After that Niyas and Navas both started working together under the Cochin Arts banner and worked with some of the leading mimicry artists of their time.
