New education policy: The National Education Policy (NEP)

The National Education Policy (NEP) of 2020 was introduced as a transformative framework aimed at revamping India’s education system. The new education policy must provide to all students, irrespective of their place of residence, a quality education system, with particular focus on historically marginalized, disadvantaged, and underrepresented groups. The policy aims to provide universal access to quality education for all and align the system with the aspirational goals of 21st century education , including SDG4. It emphasizes holistic, integrated, and multidisciplinary learning, and revamps the structure, regulation, and governance of education in India.
