Sinhagad Fort in Pune is an ancient fortress popular among trekkers, photography enthusiasts, and history lovers. Sinhagad means Lion’s Fort , and it is on a hill among the Sahyadri Mountains. While Sinhagad is good there is an issue of traffic on the road up to the fort . If the parking at the foot of the fort is full you car would be parked down which can go up to 2, 2.5 kms below the fort which we faced. Sinhagad Fort , located around 35 kilometers southwest of Pune, Maharashtra, is perched on an isolated cliff of the Bhuleswar Range of the Sahyadri Mountains. At an elevation of 1,312 meters above sea level, the fort offers panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Previously called Kondhana, the fort has been the site of many important battles, most notably the Battle of Sinhagad in 1670.
