Veteran playback singer Vani Jairam who sang over 10,000 songs in several languages including Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Bhojpuri, and Marathi, passed away today at her apartment in Chennai. VJ ( I will henceforth Vani Jayaram as VJ for brevity) , entered the Tamil film with her first song for a Tamil film “ Thayum Seyum” for which music was composed by the veteran S M Subbiah Naidu but unfortunately the film and the song remained unreleased.
