It is deployed for a variety of tasks, including maintaining law and order, protecting vulnerable areas and VIPs, and fighting insurgents and anti-social elements. The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) is the premier central police force of the Union of India for internal security . It functions under the authority of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) of the Government of India. The primary role of Central Reserve Police Force lies in assisting the State or Union Territories in police operations, thus maintain law and order and restrain insurgency. Central Reserve Police Force came into existence as the Crown Representative`s Police on 27 July 1939.
