Back in the 1800s, a successful sweet maker and businessman, Dagdusheth Halwai from Pune, lost his son to the plague that swept through the city. The grief-stricken family went to their spiritual guide, Shri Madhavanth Maharaj, who advised them to build a temple dedicated to Lord Ganesha.
