What is Kanya Sumangala Yojana? The Mukhyamantri Kanya Sumangala Yojana is a flagship initiative by the Government of Uttar Pradesh. Under this scheme, financial assistance of Rs 25,000 will be provided to girls in unequal installments at different levels from birth to 12th class. Poor families who consider girls a burden and kill them at birth or stop their education can change their negative thinking towards daughters through this scheme. In addition to the existing efforts being made by the government, Uttar Pradesh is introducing a conditional cash transfer scheme as ‘Mukhyamantri Kanya Sumangla Yojana’ which is an initiative to ensure social security to the girl child along with her development.
