After years of speculation and delays, KTM's much-talked-about sub-500cc twin-cylinder project is finally showing real progress. The upcoming KTM RC490 has now been spied on test in Europe, giving us the clearest look yet at the brand's all-new parallel-twin supersport. The KTM RC 490 was spotted testing in Europe for the first time and it looks set for a global debut in late 2026, with a launch expected sometime in 2027. Over the years, there have reportedly been numerous attempts: an adapted LC8c twin-cylinder with a displacement of around 450 cc was reportedly rejected several years ago, but the modifications were rumored to be too complex and would have required an expensive new development.
