The Government launched PM - KUSUM scheme in March, 2019, which has been scaled-up in January 2024 with the objective to provide energy and water security to farmers, enhance their income, de-dieselize the farm sector, and reduce environmental pollution. The following are the three components under the PM - KUSUM scheme benefiting the farmers:- i. KREDL is the Implemeting Agency for PM- KUSUM Component-B in the State. 319 Nos off-grid solar pumps has been installed and commissioned for SC/ST benefeciaries in the year 2019-20 under SCSP/TSP funds (Central Share: 30%, State Share: 50% & Benefeciary Share:20%) 10,000 Nos pumpsets have been allotted by MNRE to the State during the year 2021-22. Finance Department, GOK has allocated Rs, 106.97 crores for installation of 10,000 nos pumpsets with Central Share: 30%, State Share: 30% ... Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Surakshaevam Utthaan Mahabhiyan Yojana (PM- KUSUM Scheme) was launched in March 2019 by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), to subsidize farmers to install solar irrigation pumps for cultivation. Each farmer will receive a 60% subsidy to set up tube wells and pump sets. They will also get 30% of the total cost as a loan from the Government. PM - KUSUM Scheme is a government initiative to promote renewable energy and energy security for farmers in India. It has three components: decentralized grid connected power plants, solar agriculture pumps and solarisation of grid connected pumps.
