Sushruta is fondly known as the “Father of Indian Surgery” and was a physician and surgeon in ancient India. Revered as the Father of Surgery, he authored the Suśruta Saṃhitā, a Sanskrit text that laid the foundations of surgical practice more than 2,000 years ago. Sushruta, known as the "Father of Surgery," was an ancient Indian physician and surgeon who lived around 600 BCE. He wrote the "Sushruta Samhita," one of the earliest medical texts, which greatly influenced medicine and surgery worldwide.
